Kill me now. My MIL is such a fuck up, that she can't even hang on to her own apartment. She's a complete slob, has health problems that aren't that apparent (beyond her stooped shuffling). She's a narcissist who doesn't help around the house, cooks rarely, and just spends the day lying around on her bed watching TV.
Now don't get me wrong, I spend a fair amount of time watching TV as well. However, I'm proud to have evolved my television watching over the last seven months of unemployment. At first, I loved the Maury Pauvich show, the guilty pleasure of the Jerry Springer show, and the brainless ''World's Dumbest" clip show. Oh, and cheaters too. However, after watching dozens of paternity test results, I realized that the people on these shows are either black and poor, or white and poor. I've nothing against the black, the white or the poor - but I do have a thing against the trashy. Which they all where.
Then I had my Price is Right phase. I learned every game on the show, watched dozens of show case showdowns, won countless games from my bedroom couch. That got boring too.
Soap operas were never an option. Thank god.
I occasionally do chores around the house, when my wife pushes me. I'm pretty lazy that way. I do like reading. In the past couple of years, I've read over 230 books on my Kindle. That's productive, I guess. My vocabulary has increased, so I can thank recruiters who reject my application with new words.
I miss "Where in the World is Matt Lauer." They skipped it this year.
That 'Get Lucky' song is pretty catchy.
